A couple more challenges..

I am really finding that challenges will keep me inspired.  This first card is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things.  I had just learned how to cut out stamped images using Inkscape and my trusty Cricut yesterday, so colored up a few last night.  My fox and tree found a home today.

The next one was pretty easy...almost feels like cheating!  Tried some more water coloring with my distress inks for the background.  So much fun.  Every time it turns out different and the color combinations can be very cool!  This one is for the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

One more before the day ends...this is for Sketch #342 over at Sketch Saturday Challenge.  A sure fire way to get me moving is to have a sketch to follow.

Hello 2015!!

Trying my hand at some water coloring techniques.  Took a great online class months ago, but just now finding the time to actually play with all the great ideas.

This was done by smooshing (yes, that is a technical term) distress ink pads on an acrylic block, then misting with water.  I then stamped a background image, the main image and the saying.

Same technique, but with less water added.

This one was done by placing the wet water color paper under a stencil until dry.

While the distress ink was still in my reach, thought I would use Faded Jeans for a wintery sky.

It's been awhile since I have even looked at my blog (over 3 years to be exact), so better see if I can do some "cleaning up".  Please excuse the mess, but hopefully I will come out the other side with some new badges and more cards to share.  Thanks for stopping by!!
